Luna Rebecca Bryant, age 79, of Dundalk, Maryland, and formerly of Buckeye, passed away Sunday, May 1, 2016, at SECU Hospice House in Smithfield, North Carolina.
Born January 6, 1937, at Buckeye, she was a daughter of the late M. C. “John” Howard and Eula Rose Howard.
Luna retired from the Baltimore County Maryland Sheriff’s Department. She was a Christian by faith. She loved to bake and stayed in constant communication with her family each day.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Julian Bryant, August 10, 2001; a brother, James Howard; and four sisters, Elieen Hanson, Guilda Browning, Jennie Viers and Betty Kane.
She is survived by three sons, Jerry Bryant, and wife, Susan, of Joppatown, Maryland, Kenneth Bryant, and wife, Lynn, of Dundalk, Maryland, and Tim Bryant, and wife, Kim, of Benson, North Carolina; two sisters, Joanna Sharp, of Hillsboro, and Juanita McNeill, of Marlinton; a brother, Judson L. “Bud” Howard, and wife, Barbara, of Covington, Virginia; three half-sisters, Eula Kitchen, of Richmond, Virginia, Cynthia Prichett, and husband, David, of New Kent, Virginia, and Sandra Lloyd, of Mineral, Virginia; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Family will receive friends Friday, May 6, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Kimble Funeral Home in Marlinton. Funeral service is Saturday, May 7, 11 a.m. at Kimble Funeral Home with Pastor Sam Felton officiating. Interment will be in Mountain View Cemetery in Marlinton. Pallbearers will be Jared Bryant, Jeremy Bryant, Nicholas Bryant, Christopher Bryant, James Townsend and Dominic Corelli.
