Sandra Hevenor Hill, age 76, of Alexandria, Minnesota, crossed over peacefully January 27, 2016.
Born June 29, 1939, at Warren, Pennsylvania, she was a daughter of the late Gilbert and Pauline Hevenor.
Sandra and her parents moved to Frank, where she attended Durbin Grade School and Green Bank High School.
Musically talented, Sandra played saxophone in the school band and sang in the chorus. She was selected for the All-State Chorus in 1955. She participated in school operettas, plays and talent shows, was a member of the Future Farmers of America and worked in the school office her senior year. Voted “Best School Spirit” by her classmates, she was salutatorian of the Green Bank High School Class of 1957.
Sandy graduated from Alderson Broaddus College and married Dale Hill in 1961. They made their home in Minnesota, where Sandy had a 40-year nursing career.
She returned to Pocahontas County in 1997 and 2007 for reunions of her graduating class, and treasured this time spent with old friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dale Hill.
She is survived by a brother, Mike Hevenor, of Cincinnati, Ohio; her children, Terry Hill, and wife, Lisa, Joe Hill, and wife, Maria, and Lori Alford, and husband, Johnny, all of Minnesota; grandchildren, Kashia Brusse, and husband, Zach, Kory Hill, Sam Heutmaker and Quinn Heutmaker, all of Minnesota; and great-granddaughter, Isla Brusse, of Minnesota.
A memorial service was February 6 in Wayzata, Minnesota.
