The last two weeks have involved infrastructure planning, advancing key municipal projects, and navigating committee organizations. Following recent mechanical failures with the town’s trash trucks, I coordinated with outside sources who helped catch up the residential and commercial routes on October 13. A huge “Thank You” goes here to all involved.
Also, The Town Council approved Draw Request #4 for the Storm Water project during the October 5 Marlinton Town Council Meeting. This Draw is attached to the $8 million CDBG-MIT Grant, awarded to the Town of Marlinton, back about 2019.
This 100% grant funding is to be used toward storm-water separation from the combined sewer system, which was a huge part of the town’s sewer violation issues (too much ground water getting into the system which makes its way to the lagoons and then results in exceedances of NPDES Permit limits).
The Monday morning Region 4 Board Meeting was recognizably somber in the absence of former Director John Tuggle.
A Remembrance Celebration was held in honor of John on October 15, at Oak Hill Community Center.
