Joe Marvin Browning, age 83, of Marlinton, died Wednesday, January 6, 2016, at Pocahontas Memorial Hospital in Buckeye.
Born June 29, 1932, at McConnell, he was a son of the late Sherman and Ella Hanshaw Browning.
Joe was a retired truck driver for the city of Fredericksburg, Virginia. He was a Military Veteran, having served during the Korean Conflict.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Gilda “Sis” Howard Browning; brothers, Clyde Browning and Sherman Browning, Jr.; half-brothers, Thomas Jones and Bruce Jones; a half-sister, Hattie Jones; and step-daughters, Linda Grubb and Barbara Casteel. He is survived by his step-daughters, Clara “Tink” Gum, of Buckeye, Wanda Halterman, of Florida, and Sherry Buttery, of Elton, Maryland; and a step-son, Billy Howard, of Marlinton.
Funeral service was January 9 at VanReenen Funeral Home with Sam Felton officiating. Interment was in Buckeye Chapel Cemetery in Buckeye.
