Vonda Kerr

Vonda Lucille Kingdon Kerr, 88, of Jackson, Ohio, peacefully passed away Friday, June 26, 2026, with her family by her side.

Born June 2, 1938, in Warren, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Elwyn and Perthenia Stewart Kingdon.

She graduated from Warren G. Harding High School and attended college before meeting the love of her life. Vonda married Joe Philmore “Phil” Kerr August 12, 1961. He preceded her in death on May 8, 2014.

Phil and Vonda raised three sons and operated the Country Lane Christmas Tree Farm in Columbiana, Ohio. Vonda worked in several positions outside the home; eventually retiring from Sears.

Following Phil’s death, Vonda moved to Jackson, Ohio, in 2016 to be closer to her children and grandchildren. She was a proud member of Eastern Star for more than 50 years. She was strong in her Christian faith attending Church throughout her life. She spent the final years of her life as a member of First Baptist Church of Jackson. She cherished the friendships she made there.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Ilona Rupnik and Ardeth Elwell.
Vonda is survived by her children, Craig (Erin), Cory (Cheryl) and Chris (Connie); and grandchildren, Catherine Scarlett, Bella Lucille, Collin Philmore and Brycen Joe.

Funeral service was held Monday, June 29. 2026, at Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home with Pastor Seth Fallon officiating.
Graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 2, 2026 at Arbovale Annex Cemetery in Arbovale, with Pastor Julian Rittenhouse officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to First Baptist Church, 35 Broadway Street, Jackson, Ohio.
