Members of the Frost 4-H Club at the Pocahontas County Fairgrounds. The annual camp was held at the fairgrounds north of Marlinton until 1944. Meals were served in this 4-H Building which was used for 4-H Exhibits during the fair. The boys slept at the barns, the girls at the Agricultural Exhibit Hall. Empty bed ticks were filled with straw for beds and a dip in the Greenbrier River at 6:00 a.m. started the day, closing with the tribal council circle. In 1944, the first County Camp was held at Camp Pocahontas near Bartow at the old CCC Camp Thornwood. (Pocahontas County Historical Society Collection, Photo courtesy of the late Mrs. E. G.
