Daniel Arbogast I

Daniel Eugene Arbogast I, age 85, of Durbin, peacefully passed away at his home Thursday, January 1, 2026.

Born March 17, 1940, at his parents’ home in Durbin, he was one of 14 children born to the late Dixie and Annie Vandevender Arbogast.

Dan became a born-again Christian July 13, 1994.

He married Linda, the love of his life, July 9, 1966, in Circleville. Throughout his life, Dan dedicated himself to his family as a loving, devoted husband and father, dependable provider and faithful protector. He was known for his passion in serving Jesus Christ, singing gospel music, providing warm hospitality, giving encouragement, offering endless generosity and creating laughter. His legacy continues to inspire everyone who has had the honor and privilege of knowing him. Dan will be remembered and cherished forever.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Judith Arbogast, Betty Arbogast and Joanne Currence Arbogast; and nine brothers, Denver, Vere, Greene, Harvey, Arnold, Paul, Henry, David and Lonnie.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 59 years, Linda Kline-Arbogast; son, Daniel Arbogast II, and wife, Michelle Warner Arbogast; grandson, Joshua Arbogast, and wife, Katie Rose Arbogast; three great-granddaughters, Kya, Myka and Sophie; sister, Maxine Cromer-Arbogast; numerous nieces and nephews; and countless loved ones and friends.

Visitation will be at The Frank Church of the Nazarene Saturday, January 10, 2026, from noon to 1 p.m. The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m., followed by burial in Arbovale Cemetery.

Everyone is invited to a fellowship meal at The Frank Church of the Nazarene following the graveside service.

In lieu of flowers, donations of sympathy may be made to The Frank Church of the Nazarene, 5509 Staunton Parkersburg Turnpike, Frank, WV 24920.
