Jerry L. Fitzgerald, 75, peacefully passed away in a hospital August 20, 2025.
Jerry enjoyed his years in Virginia with family and friends. He was a heavy equipment operator for most of his life and was well respected in his career. Jerry always had a story to tell and shared many memories with his family.
He will always be remembered by family and friends for his wisdom, intelligence and his fun nature.
He was preceded death by his wife of 49 years, Carolyn Fitzgerald.
He is survived by two daughters, Leslie Painter, and husband, Guy, and Carol Gawlik, and husband, Tim; brothers, Howard, and wife, Lisa, and Mike, and wife, Dawn; sisters, Sue and Tiffany; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Per his wishes, there will be no funeral or memorial.
The body will be cremated and the ashes put to rest beside his wife, Carolyn, at Kelly Mountain Cemetery.
