Searching for Blackbeard’s buried treasure

After a week of learning their lines and songs, the young people in the Missoula Children’s Theatre camp at Pocahontas County Opera House gave a fantastic performance of “Blackbeard the Pirate” to a full house last Friday. The cast was as follows: Priates – Gabi Engstron, Josie Flaim, Conrad Gopie, Kylie Underwood and Aidan Eddy; Lieutenant Maynard – Carmen Fetty; beach bums – Lilit Leyzorek, Oscar Mercogliano, Zoe Guamis, Sadie Alderman and Abby Stewart; sailors – Arianna Woody, Olivia Shoemaker, Emakah Morris, Brayden Diller, Oliver Feather, Rufus Morgan and Chase Wright; crabs – Leo Flaim, Vega Guamis, Diamond Owens, Naomi Gopie, Charlotte Caroll and Adalyn Beverage; crocodiles – Tyler Pace and Maliyah Owens; mermaids – Marcie Dilley, Charlotte Beverage, SAvannah Shoemaker, Eva Acosta, Genevieve Guyette, Florence Mercogliano, Evelyn Simmons, Hanna Sparks and Luna Morgan; seaweed creatures – Avery Smith, Annabell Swan, Gracie Anderson and Iris Krack; parrots – Nathan Stewart, Daniel Swan, Rhett Simmons, Abigail Guyette, Chloe Curry, Lluiva Acosta, Kinley Beverage, Maggie Dilley, Michael Sparks and Lewella Canterbury; ship builders – Ace Gregory and Kaya Eves; assistant directors – Cloey Woody, Kat Canoy, Tay Morrison, Maddy Landis and Arizona King. Missoula Children’s Theatre tour actor and director Kylee Majkowski joined the youngsters on stage as Jolly Rodger and her fellow tour actor and director Preston Rasco handled the behind the scenes action.
