Lew Warwick Sharp, age 89, of South Point, Ohio, went to be in the arms of his Lord and Savior Sunday, October 4, 2015.
Born January 25, 1926, at Onoto, he was the third child of 14 of the late Charles and Ora Thompson Sharp.
Lew served in the United States Navy during World War II. He had worked at Southern States as a youth and after returning from the war. He worked at Ashland Oil for 44 years as a pipe fitter. On June 24, 1950, he married Muriel Ann Bates.
Lew was active in community organizations, such as 4-H, Boy Scouts, Stepping Stones honorary member and the PTA. He was a faithful worker of the Lord at the South Point Ohio Church of Christ.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of nearly 50 years; and three brothers, Jack, Earl and Charles Herbert.
He is survived by two daughters, Robin Combs, and husband, Ed, and Rebecca Sharp; three sons, Roger Sharp, and wife, Joy, Ricky Sharp, and wife, Cindy, and Randy Sharp, and wife, Christina; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; five sisters; five brothers; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral service was October 9 at Schneider-Griffin Funeral Home in Chesapeake, Ohio. Interment was in Highland Memorial Gardens in South Point, Ohio.
