The 2015 Farmers Market season will come to an end this week. It will be your last chance to stock up on all the wonderful items the Farmers Market has to offer.
Locations and times: Green Bank Market, in the parking lot of Henry’s Quick Stop, Wednesdays, 3 to 6 p.m. Linwood Market, in the parking lot of the Linwood Library at base of Snowshoe Mountain, every Friday, 3:30 to 6 p.m. Marlinton Market, near the First Avenue Mini Park, Saturdays, 8 a.m. to noon. Markets are open, rain or shine.
We will have a variety of peppers, beans, squash, potatoes, beets, chard, onions, garlic, fresh herbs, pears, peaches, apples and more. As always, we also have farm fresh eggs, local meats, seafood, salt rising bread, baked goods, artisan breads, pepperoni rolls, specialty cookies, granola, freshly ground flours, molasses, lard, local honey, vanilla extracts, jams, jellies, flowers, flower arrangements, unique fabrics, quilts, sewing accessories, specialty yarns, hand knitted apparel, jewelry, nature paintings, colorful tie dyes and many more hand-crafted items made right here in Pocahontas County.
The Pocahontas County Farmers Market gladly accepts senior vouchers, WIC vouchers and SNAP.
The PCFM Board Meeting will be held on Monday October 19, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the McClintic Library Conference Room. This will be our last meeting in 2015 and will be our Post-Season Pot-Luck. If you would like to be involved with the Farmers Market please feel free to attend. We ask everyone to bring some food to share. We will eat from 5 to 6 p.m. and then have our business meeting from 6 to 7 p.m. We hope to see you there.
We are currently looking for positive, creative minds to be a part of our organization for the 2016 season. If you would like to be on the board or be a member-at-large, please let us know at the meeting.
