The following hearings were recently held in Pocahontas County Circuit Court before the Honorable Judges Robert E. Richardson and Patrick I. Via:
Jeremiah Bleu Powell, 43, of Buckeye, did not appear for his arraignment hearing January 8, which had been continued from December 17, when Powell did not appear, and a capias was issued. Defense asked for a continuation of the January 8 hearing due to inclement weather. The matter is rescheduled for January 22.
Thomas M. Webb, 35, of Marlinton, appeared for his arraignment wherein he pleaded not guilty to one count, sexual assault in the first degree; and one count, strangulation. Bond was set at $15,000 cash/surety/property, with the added condition that he is to have no direct or indirect, physical or verbal contact with the victim.
Chelsea Ann Ryder, 35, of Dunmore, appeared for her arraignment wherein she pleaded not guilty to one count, burglary; and one count, petit larceny. The defendant remains on her current bond of $5,000 surety.
At his arraignment, Evan M. Hamrick, 19, of Marlinton, pleaded not guilty to one count, driving under the influence-impaired driving causing injury; one count, reckless driving; one count, leaving scene of crash causing injury; one count, assault; one count, battery. He remains on current bond.
