Thelma Peck, age 82, of Franklin, passed away Monday, September 28, 2015, at Sentara RMH in Harrisonburg, Virginia.
Born December 9, 1932, in Franklin, she was a daughter of the late Hobert and Mary Susan Whitecotton Hartman.
Thelma attended Pendleton County Schools and had worked at Hanover Shoe Company in the Tacking Department. She was a member of the Franklin Church of God.
On October 4, 1999, Thelma married Luther L. Peck, of Franklin, who survives.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, David Jarvis; three brothers, Edgar Hartman, Roy Hartman and Bryan Hartman; and infant siblings, Russell, Roscoe and Margaret Catherine.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three daughters, Jeannie Puffenbarger, of Staunton, Virginia, Joanne Hinkle, of Harrisonburg, Virginia, and Ruth Puffenbarger, of Riverton; a son, Lawrence Allen “Grasshopper” Puffenbarger, of Franklin; two sisters, Elizabeth Alt, of Franklin, and Sudie Hartman, of Tennessee; eight grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
Funeral service is Sunday, October 4, 2 p.m. at Basagic Funeral Home in Franklin with Rev. Sonny Hartman officiating. Interment will be in Durbin Cemetery at a later date. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
