Latricia Ann Underwood, 86, of Buckeye, peacefully passed away Friday, December 6, in Marlinton.
Born February 27, 1938, and growing up in Mt. Lookout, she was the beloved daughter of the late Earl and Virginia Legg.
On her 16th birthday, February 27, 1954, with her dad’s permission, she married the love of her life, Otis Edward Underwood, who preceded her in death April 14, 2023.
Trish was a devoted wife and homemaker, together she and Otis created a loving home, first in Cleveland, Ohio, and then, in 1985, after Otis retired from Ford Motor Company, they moved to Pocahontas County, living out the rest of their lives there. As a faithful servant of Jehovah, her life was a testament to her faith, inspiring others. She was a source of comfort and strength to all who needed a listening ear, providing strength and comfort to all. Her life was a model of steadfast devotion to her faith, family and congregation.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Ricky Allen Underwood; and daughter, Tina Louise Underwood.
She is survived by her brother, Barry Legg, and wife, Linda, and their children, Rhonda (Phil) Ketchum, Joel (Pam) and grandchildren. Trish’s legacy of love and kindness continues through her grand-children, Jason (Melissa) Scott Underwood, of Odessa, Texas, Jennifer (Jeff) Lynn Schade, of Gainesville, Georgia, and Jamie Marie Underwood, of Lubbock, Texas. She was a proud great-grandmother to Bryce Underwood, of Midland, Texas, Keyauna Underwood, of Odessa, Texas, Xavier Underwood and Mollie Underwood, both of Odessa, Texas, Sierra Schade, of Atlanta, Georgia, Hayden Schade and Bayleigh Schade, both of Gainesville, Georgia, Alucia Newnan, of Asheville, North Carolina, and Lillian Mason and Mitchell Mason, both of Lubbock, Texas; and a great-great-grandmother to Aerabella and Zendaya, of Odessa, Texas.
She is also survived by many other family members and friends who loved her and will miss her. Trish believed wholeheartedly in the resurrection and the words at Revelation 21:3,4 “He will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.
“We take comfort in our hope of seeing her again soon in the “new world to come.”
The family would like to express our deepest gratitude to Pocahontas Center for the loving care that they gave to our beloved Trish.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 18, 2025, at 4 p.m. at Kingdom Hall, 5900 Franklin Blvd, Cleveland, Ohio.
