Peggy Ann McCarty, 86, of Marlinton, passed away Sunday, November 10, 2024, at Pocahontas Center in Marlinton.
Born January 21, 1938, in Minnehaha Springs, she was a daughter of the late Bessie Waugh.
Peggy was of the Metho-dist faith and was owner/operator of McCarty Service Center for 15 years. She also worked at Pocahontas Memorial Hospital and Pocahontas Center.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Pete” Lee McCarty; daughter, Vickie McCarty; and brothers, Marvin and Lee Waugh.
She is survived by daughters, Sue Puffenbarger, and husband, Tom, and Debbie McCarty, all of Marlinton; sons, Rick McCarty, and wife, Jennifer, of Marlinton, and Steve McCarty, and wife, Faye, of Green Bank; grandchildren, Travis, and wife, Missy Price, Tim, and wife, Pam Price, Crystal, and husband, John Ervine, Stephen, and wife, Ashley McCarty, Shaun McCarty, Violet McComb, Katlyn Ryder and Cole Ryder, 18 great-grandchildren, and several great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was held Saturday, November 16, 2024, at Lantz Funeral Home in Buckeye. Burial was in the New Hope Lutheran Church cemetery in Minnehaha Springs.
