Born March 5, 1927, in Edray, she was the daughter of the late George Arnot McNeill and Ida Virginia Susan McNeill.
Dorothy was a homemaker, a gardener, babysitter and worked as a kitchen cook periodically during her adult life. She was an active member of the Dunmore United Methodist Church. As an Air Force wife, she lived in Washington, D.C., Long Island, New York, Illinois, Augusta, Georgia, Crestview, Florida, and Charleston and Beaufort, South Carolina, before retiring in Dunmore. She was active most of her life; she loved working outdoors. She enjoyed traveling and attending events such as Pioneer Days, Huntersville Traditions Days, and the West Virginia State Fair. She enjoyed flying and even visited Hawaii twice. She also loved road trips. Someone else would drive and she would ride shotgun with a road map on her lap. She loved visiting family, and was a good friend to many, staying in touch over the years and traveling to see them. She was a good neighbor, a wonderful mother and grandmother and was loved by all. She was an awesome cook, and her memorable meals will be cherished.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Devon Johnson, in 2006.
She is survived by two daughters, Delores Johnson Clark and husband, Kelvin Char, of Kailua, Hawaii, and Sharon Johnson Price, and husband, Tim Price, of Mobile, Alabama; six grandchildren, Gregory Armstrong (Teresa), of Waynesboro, Virginia, Shelley Clark, of Round Hill, Virginia, Jason Armstrong, of Marlinton, David Clark (Marita), of Gainesville, Virginia, Ashley Labianca (Matthew), of Monroe, North Carolina, and Casey Wooten, of Columbia, South Carolina; six great-grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren.
