Jerry Gilpin Schoolcraft, Sr., age 84, of Buckeye, died Tuesday, June 28, 2016, at Peyton Hospice House in Fairlea.
Born March 19, 1932, at Fayetteville, he was a son of the late James Gilpin and Elva Auldridge Schoolcraft.
Jerry was an out sole cutter for Hanover Shoe Manufacturing Plant. He was a member of the Cooktown Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Ann Coffman Fry, Mary Schoolcraft and Marie Pennington.
He is survived by his daughter, Debbie Kay Schoolcraft, of Ashboro, North Carolina; sons, Jerry G. Schoolcraft, Jr., and wife, Debra R., and Barry J. Schoolcraft, all of Buckeye, and Randy L. Schoolcraft, and wife, Charlotte L., of Marlinton; sisters, Ellen Streets, of Elkins, Maxine Shearer and Gladys Barrett, both of Marlinton, and Patricia McLaughlin, of Hot Springs, Virginia; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral service was July 1 at VanReenen Funeral Home with Pastor David H. McCall officiating. Interment was in Kee Cemetery in Buckeye.
