The Marlinton High School Band marches up Court Street for the send off of World War II Inductees. The Band Director, Miss Edith May, can be seen at right. Ramona Sharp, of Slatyfork, is the flag carrier pictured at left. These local events were common during the War. Community members gathered at the Pocahontas County Courthouse where new inductees boarded a chartered bus and headed out for their examinations, most likely in Clarksburg.
